




Ovarian cancer begins in the ovary cells, such as surface epithelial cells, germ cells, and the sex cord-stromal cells. Cancerous cells that develop in other organ sites and travel to the ovary (most commonly breast or colon cancers) are not then considered ovarian cancer.
Treatments for Ovarian Cancer
- Treatment with chemotherapy
- Surgery in selected cases
- Ultrasound scan will detect early tumour
- Scan early to detect problems, especially if there is a family history
